About Us
The Tribe Ice Hockey was created for adults and youth.
The adult camp is for adults ages 18-99 and catered to lower-level C players, D level players, and players looking to get back into the game or just beginning. This camp is for adults wanting to learn the basics and advance their hockey skills, such as, but not limited to; skating, passing, shooting, and hockey IQ to learn and think the game at a higher level.
The youth camp is for youth starting at the U10 (squirts) level all the way to high school. The youth camps will be catered to lower-level players that want an "a" or elite level experience without the intimidation of "a" level players on the ice. We will design and structure appropriate drills and practice plan based on registration level (of play) and number of campers. If you are an A or B level player, you are more than welcome to attend the camp, but you will be expected to be a good ambassador of the game.
The classroom ie: the rink will be a FUN but also very informative hockey camp like non other. To keep costs down the instructors are not from the NHL or some crazy expensive "elite" program, they are simply youth hockey/high school coaches who love the game and learned from having played this amazing game for years.
Each and every instructor is a certified USA Hockey coach. The coaches want to share their knowledge and LOVE for the game and pass that onto you. The coaches are selected on their knowledge and communication ability and are expected to make this a FUN and Learning experience for you.
The drills will be demoed on the ice and also drawn up on a board so everyone will have a good understanding what we are doing. We will also attempt to send out the lesson plan the day/night before to give the camper a heads up on what we are running.
We will not be running drills just to pass the "sweat test" where if you are sweaty, you must have gotten your money out of it. The drills we run will be to advance you're playing career and overall hockey knowledge. We want to educate the player and not have him/her forget what they learned. The overall goal is to teach them so they can self-identify the problem in future sessions but more importantly in a game and have the ability to correct that problem/mistake.
We will build skill using the following process.
Isolate or Identification
Sequencing or working as a complete unit
Patterning or game like recognizable skill
Stress or Pressure
Overall, we want to have FUN, Enjoy the time at the rink, learn the game, and advance your overall hockey knowledge.
We offer the following:
Youth clinics/camps (squirts to bantams)
Adult clinics/camps
Hockey IQ classes for adults and youth
Private or small group sessions
Coaching Roadmaps that supplement the USA hockey coaching curriculum
